The 2010 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V-6 engine will produce 340 hp and 340 lb-ft of torque, Car & Driver reports. Honeywell—the company that designed the turbos for the first production EcoBoost engine—finally announced the numbers, removing the shroud of secrecy that has surrounded the "TwinForce" engine since its debut last year in the Lincoln MKR concept.

The report said that the engine will first see production in the 2010 Lincoln MKS as noted above, but it will eventually end up in the F-150, the new unibody Explorer, and the new Mustang as well. "The usual claims of V-8 performance with V-6 consumption apply, but EPA fuel-economy ratings are not yet available," the report said—meaning that it's probably too early to uncork the champagne.
