Volkswagen is introducing the sixth-generation Golf (Rabbit, here in the U.S.) on Wednesday, ahead of its official debut October 2nd in Paris. But AutoblogGreen reports that photos are already circulating online—and was kind enough to post them for us. As you can see, it's pretty much an evolution of the current model, although the photos indicate that the car has picked up some streamlined cues from the Scirocco and is a bit leaner and meaner looking.
The report said that VW is phasing out the last of their older TDI (diesel) technology to make way for the new HDIs, and that both the Polo and the Rabbit will be the first models to get the new engines. "Until now, VW's older diesels used pump injectors, but they're switching to common-rail technology, as the rest of competitors (namely the PSA HDI diesels and the Opel/Fiat CDTIs)," the report said. VW is busy introducing its Jetta TDI clean diesel model over here as we speak; as soon as I find out more about the potential U.S. lineup for this car, I'll post.
