OK, I admit, I have the tendency to be paranoid, and the new USB lock by Thanko is food to this paranoia. The physical USB lock is modeled after those common number locks used for lockers and the like. The lock can supposedly fit any USB flash drive so it can protect sensitive data on ordinary drives or serve as the first degree of protection for flash drives already protected with encryption and password security.
Aside from flash drives, the three-number-combination device can also lock other USB devices such as mice, in case you don't want anyone using your gadgets. Of course, you can't really expect military-grade protection from a $7 lock, but for those of us with data which can't really compromise a country's security, I guess it'll do.

Interesting product! This might actually be quite useful when it comes to securing your USB flash drives.
Ok, it might not be suited for those top-secret missile blue-prints but it looks like a reliable old-school method to protect your sensitive data. For all of us with that average security clearance that is.
