Maybe The Warsaw Journal doesn't have a Mossberg or Pogue. Maybe those "Get a Mac" ads don't translate well into Polish. Or maybe, just maybe, citizens of Poland have better things to worry about than camping out all week for a really expensive cell phone.
Whatever the case may be, the Polish release of the iPhone wasn't quite met with the same fanfare as was its American counterpart. In fact, it seems that wireless provider Orange Wireless went so far as paying local actors to stand in line for the phone, in order to drum up interest.
"We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," am Orange spokesperson told Reuters.
No news on the status of Greg Packer's Polish vacation.
