It makes sense: Logitech makes quality speakers, and Logitech now manufactures the Squeezebox line, so why not make a combo product? Hence, the Squeezebox Boom: an "all-in-one network player" outfitted with an amp, built-in speakers, and the same 802.11g wireless streaming you've come to know and love from Squeezebox products.
The announcement of the Rhapsody, Pandora, Slacker, and Sirius-friendly product just came through the wires, and we have one in the PC Mag Labs right now that's going through the review process. The system is expandable, too--just add another Squeezebox receiver to get audio into other rooms of your mansion. AFter you're installed it and registered, you'll be able to access SqueezeNetwork, which aggregates thousands of radio stations and millions of songs.
Additionally, the Squeezebox Boom works as an alarm clock, and it comes with a remote control with built-in magnets, making it just a bit harder to lose.
The Logitech Squeezebox Boom network music player should be available in the U.S. and Europe sometime in September at $299.99 list. We'll let you know how the Boom holds up to our tests as soon as possible.

Tempting. I really like the idea of listening to Slacker on this thing.

This is definitely the product I'd love to own but don't have the cash for; I desperately want to get one of these and maybe a couple of extenders for the bedroom and the office. :)
