The largest complaint from iPhone 3G owners thus far? AT&T's spotty 3G reception. The second largest? That distinction would have to go to the device's battery life when switched over to 3G mode.
Mobilefun has a solution--and a little bit of pro-earth sentiment thrown in, for good measure.
The company's new iPhone case boasts a solar panel on its back, which should make your dead phone usable in about three hours. It will take about 10 hours to fully charge the handset.
For most iPhone junkies, it's not really a standalone solution, but a little extra sun juice certainly couldn't hurt.

A solar powered iPhone - nice touch. It would help if you had taken your trusty phone on holiday and forgotten your charger.

IF it charges like the normal cell phone wallwart charger, AKA:Transformer in an outlet... this would be a great advance. To charge where no one has charged before. Great idea! Now, if a solar charger could be connected to my old Sony/Ericsson Z500a, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

I want to see the next version of the iPhone have "an entire back" that's a solar panel.
How many hours of time could I get... if it was ALWAYS recharging, as I was using it?

definitely needs a small panel on the back
