You are looking at the first batch of the new generation Ford Fiestas, fresh off the assembly line at the Ford Europe plant in Cologne, Germany. Based on the Verve concept vehicle, the globally shared model will make its way stateside by 2010 along with 6 other models, representing Ford's new standard for fuel efficient vehicles.
The Fiesta is just as big on quality as it is on gas mileage. For evidence look no further than the car's impressive sales record. Since the mode's introduction in 1976 Ford has sold some 12 million Fiestas around the world. And if history is any proof, the newly redesigned model should not disappoint.
According to Edmund's Green Car Advisor, "other production facilities for new Fiesta will be located in Valencia, Spain, Nanjing, China, Rayong, Thailand, and Cuautitlán, Mexico," from which American-bound Fiesta's will originate.
