According to a new survey conducted by British digital magazine iGizmo, 35 percent of Brits admit to using their phone while "on the loo." Cell phones may be everywhere these days but um, yeah, that's still weird.
When they first emerged on the scene, cell phones were considered a useful tool available to those who could afford them; now they're everywhere. As of last November, there were 3.3 billion cell phone subscriptions in the world. Cell phones continue to be the best-selling gadget in the consumer electronics market.
This could explain why people refuse to leave their cell phones behind, even in the most seemingly inappropriate situations. Two percent of Brits admit to talking on their cell phone during a funeral, while another 1.2 percent cop to chatting on their phone during sex.
iGizmo's UK-wide survey, which polled the gadget usage habits of nearly 10,000 British consumers, found that British women value their mobile phones second only to their family and health, while nearly 9 percent of under-16-year-olds consider their phones as important as their family and health.
We here at Gearlog can promise you this: as long as you continue to organize your life around your gadgets, we will continue to organize our lives around writing about it. (As long as we're not busy texting or playing with the newest iPhone.)

Heh - if I had a dollar for every time I've been in a bathroom and someone's yakking away on their phone (even when in a stall), I'd be a very wealthy person. It's kind of unnerving.
And then there's all the times where I'm on the phone with a client or on a conference call and someone's speaking...and then there's the inevitable *FLOOSH* that tells all....the awkward silence...and then the talking continues.
Good times. :/

One of the places I've used a cellular phone was while standing on the top of a 155 ft water tower working on antenna systems.
