Aeromotions is currently testing an active spoiler that uses an on-board computer to monitor acceleration, braking, and lateral g-forces to determine the best position in real-time. Autoblog reports that the spoiler is still under testing in California, but that it will offer Bugatti Veyron-like active aerodynamics as an aftermarket add-on for other vehicles.
"The carbon fiber wing is split into two sections, each one moving independently of one another to offer just the right amount of traction," the article said. "An on-board computer constantly monitors acceleration, braking and lateral acceleration so it can actively change the pitch of the wing's sections in real-time as the car is being driven." The result? Just the right amount of downforce to whichever side of the car needs it the most.
