Just in time for the last season of Yankee Stadium in New York, SportsLive announced on Friday the release of the first USB flash drive wristbands that hold baseball-related audio and video content. Debuting at the 2008 Farm Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14 and at the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15, these wrist devices will allow users to capture history and own these baseball broadcasts forever.
Two SportsLive wristbands will be available for purchase during All-Star week on MLB.com. One wristband will contain the broadcast of the Farm Home Run Derby. The other will have a broadcast of the All-Star Game and pre-game ceremony. Both products will contain a two-hour MLB Productions documentary entitled "Yankees Stadium: Baseball's Cathedral," as well as a number of desktop wallpapers and ringtones.
"Today's fans want to consume content when and where they want, across screens large and small," says Elizabeth Scott, vice president of programming and business affairs for Major League Baseball. "We're thrilled to make such a versatile product, which includes a complete game broadcast, available as a truly efficient consumer experience. It is fitting that in this final year of Yankee Stadium, fans will be able to own a piece of history after attending these momentous All-Star events."
Fans can also pre-order these wristbands today on the MLB.com site. The bands also include a 2GB flash drive that is reusable and bonus material compressed in an Mp4 format.
