solarpoweredmosquito.jpgAs many of us no doubt rediscovered this past weekend, nature can be something of a mixed bag. Sunshine is awesome. Mosquitoes, not so much. It only makes sense harness one to fend off the other.

The new Solar Mosquito Repeller is a battery-free anti-pest device available from the fine people at Brando. There's few details available on how the thing actually works, but my initial suspicion is that the device emits some sort of frequency that is generally unpleasant to the little blood suckers or at least gently suggests that they take their business elsewhere. The little graphic adorning the device's face featuring a mosquito being struck by lightning, on the other hand, suggests completely different methods.

No word on battery life, either, but I suspect that you'll know when the thing stops working, what with all of the hungry mosquitoes nipping at your exposed limbs.

Brando says the device works up to two meters. The Solar Mosquito Repeller will run you $14.
