SSC_Ultimate_Aero_EV.jpg

Would you like some BS with that EV? Shelby SuperCars has now thrown their hat into the electric car ring—along with a healthy dose of hype. As Autoblog reports, SCC said in a statement that its new Ultimate Aero EV will—get this—last six years on a single charge, mom. Not only that, but its twin electric motors will produce 500 horsepower. Sound too good to be true? It is—they have to be lying. The battery technology doesn't exist. Either that, or they should call Stephen Hawking and report their findings.

I'd already written about this company before, back when they were demonstrating their regular, gas-engine version of the Ultimate Aero that set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car. It's a gorgeous ride that achieved a posted average speed of 256 mph. Why the company has to venture into the fantastical is beyond me.
