A new vehicle pricing website claims to be the scourge of car dealers everywhere. OpenCarPrice.com taps the power of social networks to help new car buyers get to the bottom of the dealers' bottom line.
Regardless of their market value or the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), identical vehicles are frequently sold for prices that vary by hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Behind the scenes deals of the automotive retail are often obscured from the public, which is why OpenCarPrice decided to walk car shoppers past the show room using what it calls "crowdsourcing." It does so by compiling user-generated price, lease, and finance quotes from actual transactions - a model first adopted by PriceHub.com for used cars.
In addition to gathering price figures, OpenCarPrice offers the latest on incentives and rebates, buying tips, and dealer locations. Want to share your price quote with the rest of the community or find out what others are paying for the same auto? Visit the website to learn more.
