Nissan engineer Frank Eickholt decided to take the Nissan X-Trail FCV, the company's hydrogen fuel cell SUV concept, out for an official run around the 20.8 kilometer-long Nurburgring, Autoblog reports. "I was very surprised at just how comfortable it is to drive a fuel cell car. You get in, turn the key and off you go, just like with a normal car,"said Eickholt.

As the report said, the 120 bhp X-Trail, which is worth over $2.5 million, was apparently hampered by moist tarmac during the test. "Although some of the uphill sections were challenging, the speed was still very impressive," Eickholt added. "If the course hadn't been so wet, I could have gotten more momentum out of the curves. Thirty to 40 seconds could have been shaved off for sure." His official time in the X-Trail? 11:58 minutes.
