Mitsubishi has announced that it has approved the green-leaning Concept-cX crossover, first debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, for mass production. The car will feature a 1.8 liter clean turbodiesel engine will make its debut in the new crossover, AutoblogGreen reports, along with a dual clutch SST transmission and the same all-wheel-drive system as the one in the Lancer Evolution.

The report said that in order to meet the future Euro-V emissions regulations, Mitsubishi fitted a diesel particulate filter to clean up the car's exhaust stream. The Concept-cX is considerably smaller than the Outlander SUV and should undercut it in both size and price. The company didn't give a target date for its release.
