xbox-360-logo.jpg It seems that mass storage space is becoming more readily available--at least that's what Microsoft's new Xbox 360 upgrade seems to convey. Sunday, Microsoft announced an Xbox 360 console with triple the storage space of the original (now 60 GB from 20 GB), but for the same price of $349 ERP.

All those extra gigs will be prime for the taking by music, TV shows, movies, and game content. In addition, Microsoft dropped the price of its 20 GB Xbox 360 console in the U.S. and Canada to just $299 (U.S.)

The console is equipped with a white finish and three core processors that enable viewing of HD entertainment (up to 1080p for gaming), 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio, anti-aliasing for smooth textures, full surround sound, and an HDMI output.

That makes the Xbox 360 Pro $100 less than Sony's Playstation 3, which has a 40GB hard drive.

The extra space will definitely get you ready for all the new games set to release later on.

This only brings the 360's hard disk up to the original size of the very first PS3's released in the UK. Not much of an increase at all really, especially as it costs so much to upgrade the 360 with special MS branded drives. To be honest, both MS and Sony should be thinking more along the lines of 250GB drives now, especially as both are going down the route of providing HD video content on demand. At least you can use any brand of cheap 2.5inch SATA drive in the PS3 and Sony provide the setup tools built-in (or just store your video on a nice cheap external USB drive).
MS really need to do something more to pull in the customers now.
