Following in the footsteps of Edmunds and other car-centric information portals, Kelley Blue Book went live with its own eco-friendly vehicle site KBB Green. The new section will focus on the environmental and fuel economy issues, providing car shoppers with information about alternative fuel technologies like fuel-cells, diesel, CNG, biofuel, plug-in hybrids and EVs.
In addition to green forums and blogs, KBB Green actually offers a number of practical features, such as price and MPG-based "Perfect Car Finder" with 208 vehicles to choose from, and the "Fuel Efficiency Challenge", where users can find out how their own autos stack up against KBB's green car contenders. To get things rolling, the website's editors put out the now ubiquitous and least surprising 'Top 10 Green Cars' list.
"In today's rapidly changing economy and environment, KBB Green is a one-of-a-kind resource for anyone interested in learning more about hybrid and alternative-fuel vehicles," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com. "Our list of the Top 10 Green Cars shows consumers that there are fuel-friendly vehicles available in almost every segment to accommodate a variety of lifestyles, so you don't have to sacrifice much, if anything, to go Green."
