Intel today unveiled its latest computing platform. Known for the past year by its codename, Montevina, the platform has been renamed Centrino 2, the successor to last year's Centrino (originally referred to as Santa Rosa).
Over at PC Magazine, Cisco Cheng runs down Centrino's list of his features, which he says might be the most comprehensive yet seen on a laptop platform, including, "six new Intel Core 2 Duo processors, a faster (1,066MHz) Front Side Bus (FSB), two new wireless cards, support for DDR3 memory, and a new Gigabit controller."
Check out a detailed benchmark rundown of systems utilizing the new platform, including HP Pavilion dv5t, Sony VAIO VGN-FW198UH, and Lenovo Thinkpad X200.
