GPS-enabled video loggers of this kind are destined to become standard on-board equipment in the years to come. For now, however, the Car Camera Voyager Pro is marketed by Brickhouse Security as an external device, capable of event-activated recording with time and location stamps.
Different from conventional crash recorders, Voyager Pro throws in internal GPS with the ability to import the data into Google Earth. As the accident unfolds, a built-in 3D sensor uses dynamic metrics like speed, breaking, acceleration, and force of impact to activate the 1.3 mega-pixel CMOS camera 10 seconds before and 30 seconds after the event. The data is then sent to a removable SD card with up to 2 Gigs of storage space and can be loaded on to any PC using the included software pack.
Having Voyager Pro's high-tech superiority over insurance schemers and road rage fiends will set you back $449.95. Want to learn more? Visit the product page for more spec data.
