Search, maps, e-mail--Google does plenty thing well. Really well, in fact. It's always exciting to see the company get revolutionize another technological field, like, oh, say, spaceships or cell phones.
That said, there may be limits to even Google's abilities. Perhaps the Sunnyvale company wasn't quite ready to branch out into the brave world of food storage, when they first started sending out refrigerators, back in April 2006.
Search Engine Roundtable has been receiving complaints from some of the recipients of Google Fridges sent out by the search company to top advertisers. Says one,
I got the Google Fridge about 1.5 years ago, and the damn thing stopped working! The power cord still works, but my fridge ain't getting cold anymore. I love this thing...how do I fix it? I'm assuming sending it back to Google for repair is not an option.
I imagine there must be some kind of open source solution to this...

Complaining about that their free stuff stopped working? Gees. The greed never stops.

Ever try calling a repair company?
They should put warning on the degrees that these people receive from these upscale universities. ( Warning: this degree does not guarantee or imply the recipient name has any common sense whatsoever.)
