Have you ever gotten through half an evening of drinking before realizing you had no idea how many beers you'd had? You aren't alone.
We here at GearLog have found your ultimate superfluous gadget: the electronic BeerTracker. The new best friend of every frat boy in America, the BeerTracker keeps your boozing ego in check by keeping track of how many bottles of beer you've cracked via a handy digital counter mounted on -- what else? -- a bottle opener. As the Web site notes, the BeerTracker is "ideal for world record attempts," though we don't necessarily endorse that.
A sound investment for those who tend to end their evenings under the dining room table, the BeerTracker is available from Danish Web www.gadgets.dk for DKK 49,00, or just over $10.38 (not including shipping). Look for it on the back-to-school list of every soon-to-be college student.

I don't think I've gotten that hammered in a long time. I kinda miss it, but that bottle opener might make me feel guilty! Talk about a deterrent!
