AT&T today finally released its pricing plans for Apple's long-awaited second-generation iPhone, set to go on sale on July 11th at 8 AM.

The 8GB iPhone 3G is set at $199 with the 16GB going for $299, both with a two-year contract. These plans are available only to users who purchased the phone's first generation before July 11, making them eligible for an upgrade, customers activating a new line with the provider, and current customers who are eligible for a phone upgrade.

Users who aren't eligible for such upgrades will be paying $399 for the 8GB and $499 for the 16GB. In the future users will be able to purchase the phones sans-contract for $599 and $699, for the 8GB and 16GB models, respectively.

"We can't wait to offer iPhone 3G to our customers, and we want to make sure the buying process is as easy as possible," said the president and CEO of AT&T's wireless, Ralph de la Vega. "Considering all the great new features of iPhone 3G, we think our pricing and monthly plans present a tremendous value for consumers and businesses alike."

Existing customers are required to pay an $18 activation fee. New customers must pay double that. And business users pay $45 a month for the company's Enterprise Data Plan. The options for non-business customers are a bit more flexible:

  • AT&T Nation Unlimited: Includes unlimited Anytime Minutes for $129.99 a month.
  • AT&T Nation 1350: Includes 1350 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $109.99 a month.
  • AT&T Nation 900: Includes 900 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $89.99 a month.
  • AT&T Nation 450: Includes 450 Anytime Minutes and 5,000 Night & Weekend Minutes for $69.99 a month.

Users can also opt into a FamilyTalk plan with unlimited data and voice at $129.99 for two 3G iPhones, with additional iPhone lines at $39.99.
