It's a shame that Citroën doesn't currently sell their sophisticated cars here. Nevertheless, the French company is updating its current C4 ahead of a redesign in 2010, AutoblogGreen reports. The 2009 version gets a pair of 1.6-liter four cylinders that develop 120 hp with variable valve timing, and 150 hp with a turbo; the company claims both motors offer improved fuel economy and lower emissions than the previous engines. It also picks up some new low rolling resistance tires from Michelin—along with some much needed interior tech upgrades.
Inside the new C4, Citroën has added a new navigation system with a 7-inch screen and a 10GB hard drive, along with Bluetooth and USB compatibility. The car's option list includes Xenon dual-function directional headlamps, a lane departure warning system, laminated side windows, and a speed limiter with cruise control and hill start assist, the site said. The exterior, meanwhile, will feature some cues pulled from the upmarket C5.
