Usually when a company unveils a brand new car, they'll provide some press materials to go along with it—you know, what the car is, who it's for, why it's important, and so on. Not so with Kia. The company just unveiled its new Forte sedan with three rather sharp-looking photos. But as KickingTires reports, U.S. Kia representatives say they have no further information about the Forte, especially in regard to when or how it will show up in our country. That's all we're getting for now.
According to the report, Kia is probably going to replace the Spectra with the Forte sometime next year as a 2010 model. "As the next major U.S. auto show isn't until November in Los Angeles, we don't see the Forte/Spectra coming to the U.S. until early 2009 at the earliest."
Either way, this car looks to be leaps and bounds ahead of the Spectra. The current car has virtually nothing in the way of interior tech options. There's no iPod capability, navigation systems, or anything like that—in fact, the option sheet only lists a six-disc CD changer, as if it were still the 1990s. Here's hoping the Forte remedies that—and pronto.
