More information is coming out about the BMW 7-Series redesign, particularly with regard to iDrive. BimmerFile is reporting that according to anonymous sources, the menus will look more like the Audi MMI interface, such as in the design of the lists and manner in which selections are highlighted.

"With the increase in screen resolution the fonts and maps are much cleaner looking and are also more visually appealing," the report said. "The submenus will function more like bookmarks within the interface and include links to other menus."

Other changes include a full-screen mode for map graphics, separate radio and CD menus, multiple phone numbers for each contact (without having to create separate, duplicate entries for each phone number the person has), a separate LCD bar for the radio display, and—most importantly—faster, more stable performance.
