With the new release of Wii Fit, there is one question to ask: does Nintendo look to fail? It certainly seems to be the case, especially since most consumers can't find the game. Even though Wii Fit is still a breakaway hit, Nintendo needs to somehow solve its ongoing problem of supply shortages!

Analysts agree that Nintendo has missed another golden opportunity, reports GameDaily, which quotes IDC's Billy Pidgeon as saying "When does the consumer get frustrated and move on?" Another analyst, Michael Pachter from Wedbush Morgan Securities suggests that more Wii Fit units were shipped in Europe than North America - possibly because the Euro is stronger than the dollar right now.

If that's the case, Nintendo might be looking for short-term successes across the Pond, and as Pachter says maybe Americans will be just as fat in a few months. But with the arrival of Grand Theft Auto IV for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3--which is arguably the killer app for the latter system - Nintendo should have made sure that Americans got Fit for the summer too!
