Remember how I said that earlier today, when we attended Hasbro's event in Midtown Manhattan that my attention was being completely diverted by the table full of Star Wars toys? Yeah, well, I wasn't being entirely honest with you. If there's one thing in this world that conjures up images of childhood for me as readily as Star Wars, it has to be those big hulking thunder lizards of days gone by.
Playschool's Kota The Triceratops was seated on a table, smack dab in the middle of the room, waiting patiently for his turn in the gauntlet of showcased toys. The big plush baby triceratops measures 40-inches long and reacts to touch, moving his head, horns, or tail. He also gives out a little, non threatening baby dinosaur roar and plays "fun jungle sounds."
Kids up to 60 pounds can ride on Kota's spring-loaded back, grabbing onto a handle hidden behind his head. Though, sadly, the dinosaur doesn't actually walk.
Kota is powered by six D batteries (not included) and will be available this fall for a cool $300.
I can't wait for this little dino to be released in September. It's a shame he doesn't actually walk, but this can be an advantage too - he wont require a lot of floor space, and should keep your toddler happy!
