Those for whom a video is worth a thousand words will be quite thankful for OnCars.com -- web's new high-quality automotive video experience. Launched on May 19, the new website produces its own original, editorially independent video content, broadcast with occasional ad-sponsored intermissions.
"OnCars.com is about moving cars, moving stories and moving the viewer," Says Paul Pfanner, founder, President and CEO of the new internet car channel. "We believe the best way to convey the emotional proposition present in every car is with beautiful video produced by world-class creative talent."
The flash-based flicks lack in neither editorial nor technical quality, and even offer a low-bandwidth viewing option. So far, though, OnCar focused almost exclusively on luxury and high-end sports models, sparing little attention for vehicles that lack Ferrari or Aston Martin glitz. Of course, these are early days and the company says it will premier an original multi-episode review of a "buzz-worthy" new car each week. Let's hope more compacts and econorides make the cut.
