MSI finally officially announced the launch of its Wind notebook, the first 10" laptop to feature Intel's new 1.6GHz Atom processor.
Short for Wi-Fi Network Device, the Wind weighs 2.6 poounds, and offers an 80GB 2.5-inch SATA hard drive, a backlit LED, a built-in Webcam, three USB ports, and a 4-in-one hard drive. The systems ship in Windows or Linux versions and feature a built-in battery that should get users up to 5.5 hours of battery life.
Of course the real appeal here is the price, at either $399 or $499 for the Linux and Windows XP versions, respectively. The Windows version will be available through MSI's site on June 16. The Linux model will appear later in the year.

Did you notice on their spec page that identically equipped machines except for OS have different weights... Apparently Linux weigh .3 pounds less! :-)
