JVC today announced three new HD Everio camcorders: the GZ-HD40, GZ-HD30, and GZ-HD10.

According to the company, the GZ-HD40 and GZ-HD30 are "the world's first AVCHD/MPEG-2 dual-format camcorders," giving users the time compression of AVCHD and the ease of MPEG-2 editing. Both camcorders feature 1920-by-1,080 HD recording. The GZ-HD40 and GZ-HD30 feature 120GB and 80GB hard drives, respectively. The GZ-HD10, meanwhile records in 1,440 by 1,080 and offers 40GB of recording space.

All models offer xvYCC for improved color reproduction, 1,080p, 60 fps signal output, and faster shot-response time. The cameras also come bundled with PowerDirector 6 NE, PowerProducer NE, PowerCinema NE for Everio, and PowerDVD 7 NE for editing and DVD authoring. The GZ-HD40 and GZ-HD30 also offer a plug-in that lets users edit the cameras' files with Apple iMovie HD 6 and Final Cut Pro 5 or 6 for the Mac.

The GZ-HD40, GZ-HD30, and GZ-HD10 will all be available in August for $1,299, $999, and $799, respectively.
