Is there anything we haven't shoved an iPod dock onto yet? I thought JVC had put that question to rest earlier in the year when it launched a line of LCD TVs with built-in docks. Turns out I was wrong.

iLuv has shocked the world once again by digging up yet another household gadget that hasn't been harnessed for its full iPod docking potential. The new, simply named i1255 5.1 Channel Slim Desktop iPod/DVD Player combines the iPod-docking capability of an iPod dock with the DVD-playing abilities of a DVD player. The result looks a bit like a PSP laying flat with a gaping 7-pin hole on its side.

The i1255 supports DVD, VCD, MP3 CD, Audio CD, JPEG CD, and Kodak Picture CD playback and lets users play iPod videos on a TV screen. It's available today from a number of retails including CircuitCity.com, J & R Music, Fry's, and Micro Center, as well as iLuv's own site.
