The Ferrari-like Scorpion dream machine here before you does more than just look good in red. Its hydrogen burning twin-turbo boasts an incredible 460 horsepower, which rockets the car from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds, while achieving fuel economy of 40 mpg.

Scorpion's maker Ronn Motor Company has largely stayed off the radar. Yet in a relatively short time the Horseshoe Bay, Texas-based startup "has built one prototype of the gasoline-hydrogen hybrid, secured orders for two and will begin delivery of its Scorpion supercar this fall," Edmunds reports.

The company says that there are two engines are currently available - a potent 3.5L, similar to that of the Porsche, and the above mentioned, more commanding 460 hp twin-turbo. A digitally-controlled hydrogen-on-demand fuel delivery system with airflow induction is principally responsible for the outstanding mileage. When asked about the possibility of mass production, the Ronn Motor Company spokesperson Ed Monet replied: "I would say sometime within the next six months." Price tag -- $150,000.
