Last week, I posted about a slew of unreleased products shown at the CEA-sponsored Digital Downtown event. One was this product from Gigabyte, the M528 Mobile Internet Device. At the show, there no pricing or availability information. But this morning, Slashgear posted that pricing has been announced: The device will sell for a recommended $750. It's expected to ship in late July in Taiwan--no word on American shipping yet.
The M528 features an Intel Centrino Atom Processor, Bluetooth, USB connection, E-mail, instant messaging capabilities, and a 3 MP camera just to name a few.
That price seems a bit on the high side for consumers. Wibrain's B1LE has a starting price around $500.00. That features a 4.8-inch touch-enabled LCD screen, 1024-by-600 resolution, 1.0-GHz or 1.2 GHz VIA C7M CPU, 512MB or 1GB memory, 30GB or 60GB harddisk, full qwerty keyboard, and built-in WiFi. However, for professionals, frequent travelers and others, the compact sliding keyboard of the M528 might be worth the price.
