Elecom-Portable.jpg

Elecom has recently released a compact stereo speaker system which can take on two form factors, depending upon your preference. The Elecom Portable ASP-CR550P (which is specifically meant to be used as an iPod dock) and ASP-CR550 which come in a box-like design could be separated into two individual speakers, as you can see on the picture. While the ASP-CR550P comes with an iPod doc connector, the ASP-CR550, on the other hand, is equipped with a 3.5mm jack for laptops and digital audio players.

The two halves of the speakers are 40 mm in diameter, with an output of 1W each, totaling 2W in all. They could run on AAA batteries, although plugging it in using the AC adapter would also charge your iPod (for the ASP-CR550P model) in the process. Both models are available in white and black aside from the silver seen on the images above, with the Elecom ASP-CR550P retailing $50 and the Elecom ASP-CR550 retailing $37 in Japan.
