After decades spent as arguably the best (and certainly the most prominent) skateboarder in the world, Tony Hawk would naturally want to spend a little time giving his knees a break. So he's done what any self-respecting star would--branded the crap out of himself. The best known example of the Hawk franchise has to be the highly successful cross-platform gaming series and its various spinoffs.
Now Hawk has partnered with T-Mobile and Danger to design his own Sidekick. The T-Mobile Sidekick LX limited edition handset features a Hawk-approved design that features a grip tape-like texture and eight "simulated screws." When opened up, the device plays a special Tony Hawk theme and plays a special video of the skateboarder. It also emits "skate-themed sounds" when opened and closed.
The Sidekick LX Tony Hawk Edition is also the first Sidekick that offers video record, play, and share on shipping. It also offers stereo Bluetooth support, a more personalized Web browsing experience," and further customization options.
Sidekick owners can upgrade to the new version next month. Everyone will get a chance to pick it up after, through T-Mobile's site or storefronts.
