Hyundai seems pretty serious about joining the ranks of high-end car manufacturers such as BMW and Mercedes. Nowhere is that more apparent than with the Genesis, the company's $40,000, V-8 powered four-door sedan. Car & Driver reports that they took a ride in a V-6 powered, two-door coupe version of the car, which is due for 2010 (like the sedan)—and it also has a completely different interior design than the sedan's.

The coupe will be pretty impressive, with a 310 hp V6 and a claimed 0-60 time under six seconds. A turbo four version with 223 hp will start at about $25k. Higher-end versions of the coupe will include Brembo brakes and 19-inch wheels. It looks like some serious competition for the Infiniti G37.
