With the slew of USB storage devices in the market today, choosing one is all down to what unique features a particular product has to offer and of course, the company's marketing abilities. Just earlier, the folks at the Recording Media & Energy division of Sony Europe launched the new Sony MicroVault Click and Click Excellence USB keys. Both lines are designed with the "click" function to retract or expose the USB connector. Both are also equipped with a LED light which lights up when data is being transferred. Since the MicroVault Click Excellence was specifically designed for professionals, it was reflected in its subdued ivory-colored form. It's available in 2GB to 8GB capacities with 31MB/s read and 11MB/s write speeds.

The MicroVault Click USB key, on the other hand, is identified with its black body and bright colored LED lights. It's smaller and lighter than its predecessor and is available in capacities ranging from 2GB to 16GB. The MicroVault Click is compatible with Windows ReadyBoost, allowing a system installed with Windows Vista to use part of the USB key's memory as its own. Another feature would be the Virtual Expander, which lets users store up to three times more data. The Sony MicroVault Click and Click Excellence are now available this May, 2008 and come with 5 years European warranty.
