In case you thought the McCartney-Lexus Hybrid boondoggle was pushing the limits of the environmentalist's lifestyle, Toyota's luxury division has just the ticket for you—eco-friendly travel accommodations. Motor Trend reports that Lexus has teamed up with the Fairmont luxury hotel chain to build a "Lexus Hybrid Living Suite" in two hotels—one in Washington, D.C. and one in San Francisco.
The magazine paid a visit to the San Francisco suite to check it out. "The black floors are constructed of bamboo—an environmentally sensitive and rapidly renewable plant—while designer furniture by Kelly LaPlante and the Kenneth Cobonpue collection is of organic, long-wearing materials. We found the decor to be classic, yet modern, and with a distinctly San Francisco feel."
Of course, the chance to drive another LS600h had nothing to do with the trip whatsoever. Speaking of which, they averaged 18 mpg in the hills of San Francisco, which they thought was pretty good considering all the inclines, the tremendous horsepower the LS600h's V8 belts out, and the car's 5,000 pound weight. I suppose if you look at it that way, sure.
