I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of the fact that Michael Miller is hanging out at D6 in California, this week, while I flip through press releases about hard drives. Early today, he was checking out a demo of Windows 7 from Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, and now he's getting serenaded by the sweet sounds of Guitar Hero.
Activision's CEO, Robert Kotick started off his session by talking about the company's acquisition of World of Warcraft publisher, Blizzard, and went on to discuss why Guitar Hero is such a runaway success.
And then, bam! A demo of the fourth major installment of the series, Guitar Hero: World Tour. As mentioned before, the new game is set to debut in the fall and will feature the ability to play multiple guitars, bass, and drums. Kotick brought up Tony Hawk and Paula Abdul to demo the game, for some inexplicable reason. Guess you had to be there to understand, but someone's gotta flip through all of these hard drive press releases.
