Last week, I posted about the upcoming Toyota Prius redesign; details included a slightly larger size, more horsepower, and better fuel economy than the current model. This new model already tops the market for production vehicles in fuel economy. Now Road & Track has posted the first spy shots of the next-generation Prius.

From the back, it looks almost identical to the current model; the only difference is a slightly elongated rear quarter window. But the front will be completely redesigned, and the entire car has a slightly lower and wider-looking stance that makes it appear more aggressive and sporty than the current model. But it does look good for a Spring 2009 release in dealerships, about one year from today.
