Still sporting the lousy headphones that came bundled with your MP3 player? Sennheiser feels your (inner-ear) pain. Beginning today, the headphone manufacturer is offering users an "upgrade" to its high-end headphones.
Sennheiser is giving new customers a cash rebate for their old headphones, "even if they are broken, crusty or damaged." That's right--even the crusty ones. The company is issues rebates on a sliding scale, depending on which pair you walk away with--$5 for earbuds, $10 for classic and sport, $15 for in-ear, and $25 for noise-canceling headphones.
Interested parties can download and print the form (PDF link) at Sennheiser's site. Requests must be mailed by August 31st.

The upgrade rebate is NOT for iPod headphones as this headline incorrectly says...
Sennheiser clearly states that you get a rebate ONLY if you turn in your old Sennheiser headphones. Do not try to turn in your old iPod headphones to Sennheiser.
That is all.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the note. Not sure where said information is "clearly stated" on the PDF. We just took another look and couldn't find it on there. But, just to play it safe, we sent a note to a Sennheiser representative who wrote back, "[t]hey do not have to be Sennheiser...it's for any headphone, any brand."
Thanks again,
Brian H.

Hah! My bad! The PDF appears to say you get $5 for some specific sennheiser models, $10 for others and so on. So much for clearly stated -- good detective work!

The cash back is offered when you upgrade TO specific Sennheiser models, not from. Thanks!
