The company stays away from stickers, trade-in values or MSRPs. Instead, it focuses on the vehicle, its mileage, model year, and what John Q. Citizen paid for it or netted on a sale. The index page is very clean and orderly, almost Googleesque. Entering a model query prompts the appearance of a Flash-driven chart of price averages for the past decade. Want to know where the figures came from? No problem. Just below it sits a table of all the John Q. submissions used to compile the data.

Unlike the big guys who offer standard, market-based stats, Pricehub's database, enabled by everyday buyers and sellers, is more intimate and thus seemingly more authentic. That said, I wouldn't be deleting Edmunds or KBB from my bookmarks folder just yet. Though undoubtedly helpful, Pricehub's search results are still way too general and lack the kind of specificity buyers and sellers typically look for before finally putting pen to paper. Still, even in its present form, I say a visit to Pricehub is a must for any winning car deal.
