Who knew that Sprint is a holy wireless carrier? Last Friday, Sprint announced that it was chosen by the Archdiocese of New York to provide "critical communications support" for the Papal visit to New York City, including 600 Sprint phones featuring Nextel's push-to-talk service, according to MediaPost.
The Pope's Caravan, Cardinals, and the Vatican VIP personnel were all issued Sprint phones over the weekend.
Sprint even received a heavenly compliment from Joseph Zwilling, the Archdiocese director of communications: "Robust communications are integral to the success of the Pope's visit, and we decided to work with Sprint because of their industry-leading Nextel Direct Connect product and the instant connectivity that it will provide to our staff during all activities over the next few days." Too bad prayer can't help Sprint gain more subscribers.

The article was informative but too bad the article's author ended with a biased comment about gaining subscribers. Was the ending comment directed at religion, Sprint or just an attempt to say something clever?
