Yesterday the modem and software maker Sierra Wireless announced that it would join with Agnik - a data analytics company - to market Agnik's MineFleet vehicle data mining system along with AirLink vehicle tracking solutions made by Sierra.

Designed to monitor and optimize vehicle health, driver behavior, and fuel consumption, MineFleet predictive data stream application will meet with ALEOS-powered Wireless and Mobile-to-Mobile (M2M) AirLink products to deliver advance fleet management solutions.

"By combining the AirLink line of intelligent modems with the MineFleet predictive vehicle data mining technology, we are opening up the door for a new generation of powerful products to better understand the status of a fleet and optimize its operating costs," said Agnik's President Dr. Hillol Kargupta.

A similar model of onboard vehicle analysis, which optimizes data and compresses it for better network communication is currently being integrated in the City of Denver as a platform for measuring vehicles' impact on the local ecosystem.
