Zenn_EV_Cars.jpg

ZENN, the Canadian electric car manufacturer, just announced that it would roll out its first highway-capable EVs in the fall of 2009. The company's current product, a three-door hatchback with a range of just 35 miles and a top speed of 25 miles, is an admirable first effort but isn't exactly ready for mass production. The new model will remedy that neatly, the company said. (UPS truck not included.)

The company claims the new car, which will go by the moniker cityZENN, will reach a much higher top speed of 80 mph and last for 250 miles on a single charge. To design and build the new car, ZENN partnered with EEStor, a defense industry ultracapacitor supplier. For more information on the new vehicle, check out our partner site GoodCleanTech. We also covered this car back in January; click the link for a video of the original vehicle in action.
