Why do you own a computer? Word processing? Video games? The Internet? If you answered "MySpace" without even thinking, boy does Everex have the mini PC for you.

Produced in conjunction with open source Linux startup, Good OS, Everex's new limited edition MyMiniPC is designed especially for the MySpace-obsessed, featuring a special version of gOS Linux chock-full of social networky goodness, including a slew of new MySpace apps created in the wake of the site's recent open-API launch.

"The MySpace Developer Platform is all about embracing developers and empowering them to create new and exciting ways for friends to connect on MySpace and share their experiences with one another," said MySpace San Francisco's managing director, Chuck Rosendahl. "The MyMiniPC is the perfect appliance for MySpace users and those whose activities are consistently tied to the web and less to the desktop. It is an ideal solution for getting access quickly to the MySpace apps that matter most to our users."

Priced at $499, MyMiniPC weighs two pounds and stands one and a half inches tall. It comes bundled with the latest MySpace apps, including, "Super Mood," "Super Graffiti," "Super Quotes," and "Current Time." The gOS's Space Dock also features a MySpace icon, which provides shortcuts for the site's navigation bar.

Also, like MySpace, the MyMiniPC comes bundled with a friend, to get you started: In place of MySpace's now infamous first friend, Tom, gOS Space offers Dave, who provides a desktop shortcut to answer any questions users may have about MyMiniPC, gOS Space, and MySpace Apps.

Although it didn't mention it in the official press release issued this morning, it's pretty safe to assume that the computer self-destructs, should one attempt to use it to access Facebook.

It looks like an old 2X CD-ROM drive I installed in a 486 once.
