[Open on a black and white shot of bored children lethargically clicking on mice.]

Announcer: Hey, kids! Are you tired of your boring old router? Would you rather poke your eyes out with a dull USB key than keep looking at that router?
Children: [In unison] Yeah!
Announcer: Well, have no fear! Skinit for routers is here!!

[Sweet-ass guitar riff plays as a new skinned router emerges from a plume of smoke. Now in living colorization, the children are surfing the Web with newfound flair. High fives ensue.]

Announcer: [Quickly] Results may vary. Not to be taken internally.

OK, so it's just a rough draft, but I'm pretty sure that were I tasked with creating a commercial for Skinit, it would be something along the lines of the above scenario. Let's face it, Skinit deserves all of the fanfare it gets. After all, so many of us suffer from boring router syndrome (BRS).

D-Link has the cure, with customizable router skins, including such crowd-pleasers as the American flag, butterflies, and sport teams. After all, nothing says "Go A's!" quite like a "tricked out" DGL-4500/ DIR-855 router.

D-Link's site has a Flash-based router skin design and a surprising number of options--more than anyone could ever possible need, in terms of router skin design, really. Skinit offers a number of existing patterns, shapes, and text input features. You can also upload your own pictures, if you're the type who really needs a wedding picture on your router.
