branson.jpg In a rambling but highly entertaining CTIA keynote address, super-entrepreneur Richard Branson recounted the history of his more than 300 Virgin companies, capping the list with his upcoming attempt to establish human settlement on Mars. Sadly, this "Virgle" project, which is supposedly a joint venture with Google, is an April Fool's joke.

But Branson decided anyway to call for volunteers from the CTIA crowd, and he got a slew of semi-random marketing people out of the audience to volunteer to potentially take a life-threatening, one-way journey to an inhospitable, unterraformed hell planet.

Not sure where I'm going with this, other than that people really will take any opportunity to get on stage with Richard Branson. Anyone want to speculate what a space colony made up entirely of marketing people would look like?
