Wireless carrier Cricket's pledge to bring unlimited, high-speed wireless broadband to subscribers for $35 or $40 a month (depending on whether you also have a voice phone) has gotten a lot of buzz. At the CTIA trade show, the company announced its next move into the wireless data space: a USB modem that works with any desktop or laptop PC.
The Cricket UM100C costs $99 after various rebates, said Cricket senior manager for corporate communications Greg Lund. It's now on sale in Tulsa and will go on sale April 8 in Oklahoma City; Nashville; Spokane; the Central Valley of California; Santa Fe/Albuquerque, NM; and Portland, OR.
Based on the Qualcomm MSM6800 chipset, the UM100C supports EVDO Rev A, which is even faster than the EVDO Rev 0 network run by Cricket. It has drivers for both Windows and Mac OS, and runs on both the older 850/1900 and newer AWS frequency bands.

Why point out that it supports Rev A if the only network it's radio is tuned to is only Rev 0? Cricket says there are no drivers for Mac OS.

He's right - Cricket has announced NO drivers for Mac OS. Why would you print that?

Because that's what the big placard next to it in the UTStarcom booth at CTIA said. Here's the full photo: UM100c photo
It's important that it supports Rev A for future-proofing.
