Imagine: The selling point on the Blaupunkt Brisbane replacement car radio is its lack of a CD player slot. Instead, the front panel of this $160 single-DIN unit has an SD/MMC card slot that lets you transfer hundreds or thousands of songs from PC and use them in place of CDs that may jump, skip or jam in the player, or warp if left in an overheated car. Single-DIN means the Brisbane fits virtually every car dashboard where the radio is replaceable. There's also a USB connector and an audio input for cellphones or external navigation devices. Bluetooth and iPod modules are extra-cost. As required by the aftermarket car radio alliance code of conduct, the front panel station-preset buttons are uselessly small. There is, however, a very nice 4,096-color VarioColour front panel display.
